This role operates in complex, interdependent environments and focuses on coordination, communication, and delivery discipline to ensure projects are completed as planned. The Project Manager II works closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and enabling functions to support alignment to defined objectives and maintain clear visibility into progress, risks, and dependencies. While not a deeply technical role, the position requires comfort working within enterprise systems and supporting initiatives that intersect with IT, digital tools, and business operations. This role is on-site and requires reporting to NMG’s Winston-Salem, North Carolina office five (5) days per week. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available. Job Location: Winston-Salem, NC Job Responsibilities: Project Planning & Execution * Manages assigned projects through the full project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure). * Develops and maintains project plans, schedules, milestones, and dependency tracking. * Monitors scope, timelines, and delivery commitments, managing approved changes through established governance. * Assesses project health and proactively identifies risks, issues, and constraints. * Escalates risks and decision points with clear options and impact assessments.   Stakeholder Coordination * Coordinates across business, operations, and enabling teams to support delivery of approved scope. * Facilitates project meetings, status reviews, and working sessions to ensure alignment and accountability. * Maintains clear ownership of actions, decisions, and deliverables across stakeholders.   Communication & Reporting * Provides regular, accurate project status reporting, including progress, risks, dependencies, and key updates. * Maintains clear, current project documentation such as plans, decision logs, and risk registers. * Tailors communication appropriately for project teams, partners, and leadership audiences.   Governance & Controls * Applies standard PMO project management practices and templates. * Ensures projects adhere to intake, prioritization, and approval processes. * Supports audits, reviews, and post-project retrospectives as required.   Continuous Improvement  * Participates in lessons-learned activities and process improvement initiatives. * Contributes to consistent project management standards across the PMO.   Job Competencies: * Project Execution & Delivery Management: Plans and drives assigned projects through the full lifecycle, ensuring scope, timelines, dependencies, and commitments are effectively managed. * Stakeholder Coordination & Influence: Coordinates and aligns diverse stakeholders across business, operations, and enabling teams to maintain momentum and accountability. * Communication & Status Transparency: Provides clear, accurate, and timely updates on progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to project teams and leaders. * Risk & Issue Management: Identifies, assesses, and escalates risks and issues early, offering options and impact assessments to support informed decisions. * Governance & Process Adherence: Applies established PMO standards, tools, and controls to ensure projects follow approved intake, planning, and reporting processes. * Change Awareness & Readiness: Understands downstream impacts of project-related change and supports readiness through coordination, communication, and timing alignment. * Priority & Time Management: Manages multiple initiatives and deadlines while maintaining delivery focus and execution quality. * Documentation & Detail Management: Maintains accurate, accessible project artifacts, including plans, decision logs, risk registers, and action tracking. * Systems & Tool Fluency: Works effectively within enterprise systems landscapes and project tools to support delivery and collaboration. * Continuous Improvement Mindset: Participates to lessons learned and contributes to process improvements to strengthen PMO consistency and delivery effectiveness.   Basic Qualifications: * Minimum of four (4) years of experience managing cross-functional projects through the full lifecycle. * Demonstrated ability to independently manage project scope, schedules, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communication. * Experience working within Agile, hybrid, and/or waterfall delivery environments. * Experience operating within established PMO governance, standards, and reporting frameworks. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. * Experience using collaboration and workflow tools such as Monday.com, Microsoft Teams, or similar platforms.   Preferred Qualifications: * Seven (7) or more years of project management experience with evidence of independently managing medium-to-large, full lifecycle initiatives. * Experience with basic reporting, dashboarding, or project metrics (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). * Active project management certification such as PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, or equivalent.   Work Environment: Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of the workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending, and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.  General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions.
