The Project Manager III – Implementation (IPM III) will be responsible for managing complex enterprise data center deployments from end-to-end. IPM III will lead project teams that span multiple business units, including Property Development, Client Project Delivery, Enterprise Sales, Solutions Engineering, IT and Facilities Operations. IPM III will play a primary role in validating requirements, leading internal and external communications, managing issues and mitigating risks to ensure successful on-time project delivery. The ideal IPM III candidate is a highly-organized, experienced and effective project manager who possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, and has relevant technical and industry expertise to continually satisfy both internal and external project stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned
- Manages a portfolio of complex data center deployments across the organization’s Enterprise, Hyperscale and Strategic Account verticals
- Owns the project lifecycle from initiation to completion for each deployment, engaging project resources as necessary to maintain visibility of construction, fit-up and fit-out activities to deliver customer’s data center services
- Develops and manages all aspects of project planning, including communications, resources, budget, issues, risks and vendor relationships (where necessary)
- Manages entire project scope, including validating requirements, Statement(s) of Work and other product specifications for customer’s data center services
- Understands interdependencies between operational, business and customer needs, and proactively works to resolve disputes and gain stakeholder alignment
- Serves as the primary point of contact for project updates to all internal and external project stakeholders
- Facilitates regular meeting cadences and provides timely updates to project stakeholders through established channels (email, messenger, web conference, etc.)
- Provides effective leadership to project team by holding them accountable to meet project milestones and timelines
- Monitors, tracks and controls outcomes to resolve conflicts, dependencies and other project risks to ensure critical path deliverables are met
- Provides periodic reports, metrics and project summaries to executive-level representatives of internal business units (Property Development, Project Delivery, Enterprise Sales, Solutions Engineering, IT and Facilities Operations)
- Maintains channels of communication with sales leadership and remains apprised of impending sales pipeline to proactively deliver the best service possible
- Utilizes PMBOK best practices, established project methodologies and tools to mature PM capabilities for the organization, including internal processes and documentation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years or more of progressive project management experience in an IT infrastructure environment or related field
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
- PMP, PMI-ACP, CAPM, Project+, Scrum/Agile, Six Sigma or related certification(s)
- Extensive experience with Waterfall, Agile and/or Scrum methodologies
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
- Experience working in data center, critical facility, or other IT-related environment(s)
- Superior verbal and written communication and analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership, diplomacy and motivational skills, including the ability to manage up, down and across multiple business units and organizations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced understanding of technical infrastructure components and their functions
- Working knowledge of industry-leading project management, construction and CRM tools (e.g. Smartsheet, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Procore.)
- Experience managing budgets and negotiating vendor contracts
- Other technical certifications (AWS, Cisco, Juniper, Microsoft, VMware, etc.)
