Description
The Need: We are searching for a certified Project Manager for a leading manufacturing organization. The Contractor will serve as a PMP-certified Project Manager/Leader, focusing on leading cross-functional initiatives within a large tire building facility. The facility involves high-volume production of radial and bias-ply tires, utilizing automated calendering, extrusion, and assembly lines. The contract duration is 1-4 years, with an option to extend based on performance and mutual agreement. Long-Term Contract opportunity: Yes. Contract-to-Hire may be possible but is not guaranteed. Location: This is a full-time ONSITE position at our client's site in Ft Wayne, Indianna Work Schedule: Normal work hours 40 hrs/ week Monday – Friday, however occasional shifts in schedules can be made to provide coverage for project installations and start-ups requiring weekend or holiday coverage. Overtime work may be approved as needed but will not be typical. Work Plant Shutdowns as needed. This work almost always falls on weekends & Holidays. Work schedules will vary based on project need and assignment. Must Have Requirements: Associate degree or equivalent experience with 8 or more years of project management experience. 3 years of work toward obtaining the PMP Certification 5 years or more experience managing large projects. The ideal candidate will have managed progressively larger, more complex projects in an industrial manufacturing environment. Project management experience authoring project documentation including but not limited to Charters, Ghant charts, risk matrices, change logs, monthly status reports with RAG (Red-Amber-Green) indicators, executive summaries, and closeout packages with ROI analysis and PMO recommendations. (Mastery level skills in Excel and PowerPoint are a must) Current or previous PMP certification required as well as a strong understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards. Other requirements to be fully qualified for this role: Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, ability to work independently or in a team, with effective communication for reporting issues to management. Additional Certifications: Lean-Agile Certified Project Manager is a plus. Lean Six-Sigma Yellow Belt or higher is a plus. Day-to-day job responsibilities: The Contractor will lead end-to-end project management for initiatives tailored to tire building operations, including automation of bead builders, sidewall applicators, and tread winders; IT integrations for real-time process monitoring; and infrastructure upgrades for energy-efficient conveyor systems. Services include: Project Initiation and Planning: Conduct kickoff workshops with facility stakeholders (e.g., production supervisors, automation engineers, IT leads) to define project charters, including scope for tire building line reconfigurations. Develop detailed project plans using MS Project, incorporating WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) for phases like rubber compounding optimization and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) upgrades. Execution and Delivery Oversight: Manage scope, schedule, budget, and risks for 3-5 concurrent projects, such as implementing IoT sensors for predictive maintenance on extruders or migrating legacy SCADA systems to cloud-based platforms. Coordinate cross-functional teams for on-site implementations, ensuring minimal disruption to 24/7 tire production shifts. Facilitate procurement of specialized equipment (e.g., robotic arms for ply layering) and vendor integrations, adhering to the client's supplier qualification processes. Monitoring, Control, and Risk Management: Track KPIs using Jira dashboards and Power BI reports, focusing on metrics like OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) for tire building machines (>85% target) and downtime reduction (
