About the role As the Project Manager – Swim Sport & Leisure, you will play a key role in leading the planning, delivery and reporting of a diverse portfolio of projects that enhance community health, wellbeing and active lifestyles across Greater Geelong. Working within the Swim Sport & Leisure Department, you will manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with organisational objectives. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including Councillors, consultants, contractors, government agencies and community groups, providing specialist project management expertise and strategic advice. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of leisure and recreation facilities, services and initiatives that deliver meaningful outcomes for our community. Key responsibilities include: * Lead and deliver a portfolio of Swim Sport & Leisure projects from initiation through to completion, including operationalisation of major capital projects including North Bellarine Aquatic Centre (Stage 2), and the Regional Sports Infrastructure Projects – the Armstrong Creek Sports Centre, and Waurn Ponds Sporting Complex. * Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, risks and reporting requirements to achieve successful outcomes. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Councillors, contractors, consultants and community groups. * Prepare contract documentation and oversee project delivery to ensure compliance with specifications, policies and governance requirements. * Provide specialist project management advice on complex and politically sensitive matters. * Support the implementation of Council's project management framework and drive continuous improvement in project delivery practices. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on outcomes, governance and customer service. Your collaborative approach, sound judgement and ability to drive continuous improvement will enable you to successfully deliver projects that create lasting value for the community.
