Description:
Wood Process & Energy recruiting for a Project Manager to manage site projects and provide engineering technical ownership for equipment, plant, and facilities as well as civil design, oversee construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure – manufacturing processes on a staff role basis to be based in Ware, Hertfordshire area.
This role will deliver professional engineering expertise to specific unit operations, to ensure the demonstrated design performance is maintained and continuously improved during the operational life cycle and business-driven improvements including capital projects, upgrades, modifications and adaptations meet their performance targets.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Degree in a relevant discipline of Engineering, or HNC/D
- Demonstrable experience in the management of multidisciplined pharmaceutical/ life science projects or other relevant industries is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of the site QMS and Regulatory Requirements (Safety and Quality) relative to the defined process
- Experience in change management methodology and advocate of GPS principles
- Knowledge of historical, current, and anticipated manufacturing plant and equipment. Candidate should has sufficient scientific and engineering credibility to effectively interface with and influence key stakeholders, internal and externalBroad knowledge of professional engineering environment, associated disciplines, and commercial awareness

Responsibilities:
- Experience working within a multi-discipline, in-house Engineering Department, on a large Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Site
- Responsible and accountable for the capital expenditure on projects under their management up to the project value, managing those projects in accordance with corporate and site procedures. Monitors, controls and reports on project progress, resources and finances regularly and escalates if required
- Responsible for all work stages including Inception, Design, Planning and Building Regulation Applications, C.D.M., Co-ordinating with Consultants and Contractors, Programming, Work Packages, Tendering and Evaluation, Contract Supervision, Health and Safety, (risk assessments/method statements), and Financial Control, through to successful completion and handover on Construction Projects up to £5m in value
- Assists in generating investment proposals and preparation of PIP documentation using STP information provided by the stakeholders. Assists the Project Sponsor in the development of the business case, project scope definition, benefits and objectives. Responsible for agreeing non-engineering project responsibilities with the Project Sponsor
- Responsible for the day-to-day management and deliverable completion of the engineering aspects of the project, using agreed resources, by an agreed date to the agreed safety standards and an agreed quality within an agreed budget. Ensures that all appropriate technical standards are applied during the project implementation
- Responsible for the control and co-ordination of all contractors and suppliers to the project
- Responsible for coordinating activities related to the application for and approval of statutory local authority Planning Approvals required for the project
- Responsible for the institution and upkeep of project files, meeting records and correspondence, the correct document handover/ archiving on completion of the project and the raising of purchase requisitions
- Responsible for co-ordination, scheduling and reporting of activities related to stakeholder management, benefits management, business change management and project communications as agreed with the Project Sponsor
- Provide specialist advice and contribute as a design team member in the design phase of site capital projects, as well as lead and manage the implementation of routine activities on-siteProficient with SAP purchasing and invoicing software
