JOB SUMMARY

JVF Solutions Ltd. is an established, multi-disciplined development manager, project management consulting firm, and construction manager, serving owners and consultants. JVF is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to assist with various construction projects in Western Canada.
The Project Manager will be responsible to manage projects from start to finish including planning, budgeting, and delivery of multiple parallel projects. The candidate will have to oversee all aspects of the projects by setting deadlines for the project team, assigning responsibilities, monitoring progress, summarize project progress, while building and maintaining strong working relationships with team members, clients, contractors, vendors, and other departments involved in their projects. Successful candidates will have to prepare reports for upper management regarding the status of the projects and verify that the project portfolio achieves the potential benefits defined in the project’s business case.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
· 10+ years of general contractor construction experience
· 10+ years of general contractor preconstruction experience in the RFP process including budgeting and estimating.
· Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by application of health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
· In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law, building codes, safety, and quality management practices.
· Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, including managing project budgets and schedules.
· Ability to manage multiple projects by managing workload and setting priorities.
· Strong ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
· Experience in providing budgets and estimates to clients.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $110,000.00-$140,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

· Overseeing the entirety of the construction project from project programming, design, permitting, procurement, construction, and close out.
· Provide frequent review of drawings, as they are developed by the Consultants, with input regarding constructability, scheduling, material costs, etc…
· Create and manage project budgets in collaboration with Clients, General Contractors, and Subcontractors.
· Develop, define, and track project scope on a detailed project schedule working alongside Clients, General Contractors, and Subcontractors.
· Frequently communicate to the Client updates to the project including project budget, forecasting project change orders, pertinent decisions for project RFI’s, subsequent impacts to baseline project schedule complete with solutions to any unexpected circumstances through the project.
· Review and make recommendations pertaining to the monthly payment of invoices in accordance with the Prompt Payment Act.
· Implement and maintain Change Log through design and construction complete with change management procedures.
· Conduct cost adjustment or value engineering sessions with the Clients, Contractors, Subcontractors and Consultants.
· Review on-site construction progress to determine if the project following the schedule as expected while having the ability to take appropriate measures to correct any issues found.
· Provide professional recommendations for resolution of any claims made by Consultants, Contractors, or Subcontractors against the Owner
· Ensures permits and licenses are obtained as required.
· Report to senior management frequently with formal reports monthly.
