Contours Landscapes (PTY) Ltd is an established and accomplished landscape construction firm with its head office located in Muizenberg, Cape Town. We’re expanding into the Garden Route and seeking an experienced, self-driven Project Manager to lead our new George office.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time leadership role suited to a hands-on professional with strong project and team management skills, a background in construction or landscaping, and a strategic, detail-oriented mindset.

TERTIARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • A recognised Project Manager qualification aligned with Civil Construction, Building, Property development or Agricultural industries

WORK BASED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5–7 years experience in project or operational management in a construction-related environment
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Budgeting and commercial contract management knowledge (JBCC, GCC, NEC)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • RSA citizen
  • Valid Code B driver’s license (no endorsements)
  • Willing to be based in George
  • Police Clearance Certificate (issued within the last 3 months) required; when shortlisted
  • Credit history check may be conducted

Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage landscape construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are met
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow the regional installation team to achieve operational excellence
  • Technical Oversight: Interpret BOQs, technical drawings, and specifications; provide input during pre-construction planning
  • Client Representation: Represent the company in meetings with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections, uphold quality standards, and address technical or on-site challenges
  • Cost Control: Oversee project budgeting, cost control, and contract administration to ensure financial targets are achieved
  • Profitability: Drive branch profitability through efficient operations and identification of upselling opportunities
  • Safety & Security: Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and manage incident reporting procedures
  • Industrial Relations: Conduct staff performance reviews, manage disciplinary processes, and facilitate ongoing training
  • Recruitment: Participate in interview, selection, hiring, evaluation, training and up-skilling of staff
  • Relationships: Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders
  • Reporting: Provide accurate project updates, financial reports, and operational feedback to Head Office
