Description

The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.
The LCEL focuses on the interdisciplinary field of European law and uses to full capacity its proximity to key EU institutions in Luxembourg. The new Interdisciplinary Centre (IC) will combine academic excellence and strategic research with impact. The IC will reflect in its strategic focus the European political agenda of a dual (digital and green) transition and topics related to European sovereignty.
We are looking for people driven by excellence, excited about innovation, and looking to make a difference. If this sounds like you, you’ve come to the right place!

Responsibilities

The LCEL Library is a central hub for European law research, providing extensive resources and support to scholars and practitioners. It offers access to a vast collection of legal texts, journals, and electronic resources, and is staffed by specialised librarians who assist with research and information needs. The library plays a crucial role in supporting the academic and research activities of the LCEL.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead the integration of the LCEL library catalogue into the collective catalogue of the Luxembourgish libraries (a-z.lu), managed by the National Library of Luxembourg (BnL). This project is crucial for ensuring the seamless migration of our library data and enhancing our library services.

As a Project Manager, the jobholder will:

  • Organize efficient project governance and mobilize resources to execute the project
  • Define and execute the roadmap to deliver project objectives
  • Monitor and provide transparency on project progress
  • Submit proposals and action plans to the sponsor for decision and raise alerts at the appropriate management level when issues arise

More precisely, the Project Manager will:

  • Conduct a thorough examination of the current LCEL library data set in Aleph
  • Collaborate with the BnL Bibnet.lu team to analyze data quality and prepare for migration to the Alma catalogue
  • Update bibliographic, holding and item data according to Bibnet.lu libraries network rules
  • Migrate LCEL bibliographic metadata to the Alma catalogue, ensuring records appear in the national search engine a-z.lu
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure a smooth migration process
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory requirements of the Bibnet.lu libraries network
