The applicant will be primarily responsible for the following: Ensure that project Safe Lifting Operations and other procedures are implemented effectively. Plan, organize, supervise, and closely collaborate with contractors on ongoing lifting activities and logistics management. Oversee all critical lifts, advising on hazard identification, regulatory compliance, and best practices. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) to approve contractor critical lift plans. Conduct routine checks and inspections on-site to ensure compliance with authority requirements. Ensure contractors establish an EHS management system for the safe transport, operation, and maintenance of mobile plant equipment before deployment to the site. Develop a strategic plan for the campus to promote best practices in lifting and the operation of mobile plant equipment. Regularly review the project Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and ensure it is implemented effectively. Create and implement comprehensive training programs, workshops, and best practices while monitoring and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) for the campus. Support other EHS functions as assigned by the Line Manager. Required Experience, Qualifications and Education: Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, Environmental Science, or Civil Engineering. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction or oil and gas industry. Experience in lifting activities for both civil and mechanical construction tasks, including routine, non-routine, and critical lifts. Certification as a Lifting Supervisor is mandatory. Certification as an EHS professional (e.g., Green Book, IOSH, NEBOSH, CSP) is an advantage. Strong knowledge of lifting, mobile plant equipment operations, regulations, and codes of practice. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently, proactively, and in outdoor environments. Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia is required. Ability to communicate in Mandarin is advantageous for liaising with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
