Description
About us London Marathon Events (part of the London Marathon Group) works to inspire, champion and increase activity in all ages, abilities and demographics. We do this through our successful event portfolio (which includes the TCS London Marathon and TCS Mini London Marathon, Brighton Marathon, The Big Half, Vitality London 10,000, Vitality Westminster Mile, Standard Chartered Great City Race and Swim Serpentine), through our extensive outreach programmes working with schools and community groups in London and across the UK and through our network of wholly owned or partially owned companies, such as Maverick, Run 4 Wales, Loch Ness Marathon Ltd, Caledonian Concepts, Athletic Ventures and Friday Night Lights  Our events raise millions for charities every year to improve the lives of individuals and communities and we passionately believe in the power of sport.   Our values are integral to who we are, how we work and what we do: Caring - We value each other, our customers and the positive impact we make  Curious - We open our minds to new ideas, perspectives and ways of working Exceptional - We strive to be the best and to redefine the art of the possible  Fun - We create joy, happiness and memories that last a lifetime   Diversity, inclusion and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do, and we want to ensure they are at the heart of our company. We strongly value diversity within our workforce and recognise that different people bring different perspectives, lived experience, ideas and culture to the company. This difference brings with it great strengths, including diversity of thought. So, if you’re ready to be a force for good, lead change and want to make a difference to society, keep reading. About the role We are seeking a Project Manager to work on an international event delivery partnership between London Marathon Events and a global brand.   The role is based in our London office on a hybrid basis.   You will be responsible for the project management of events across 3+ international markets.  You will be a key part of the operational delivery team, reporting into the Project Director, who is accountable to the CEO and working alongside the Event Experience delivery team. The key benefits of the role are wide senior stakeholder exposure, the ability to fast track your career and working with globally renowned brands in new geographies. In return our ask is that you are open to hard work, unpredictable working patterns and the agility to create the plan as we grow rather than waiting to receive one.   Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Coordination * Develop, maintain, and track project plans * Be resilient and open to questioning on these plans * Coordinate activities across two global organizations, ensuring alignment on timelines, deliverables, and expectations. * Act as the key point person for the Project Director to support project oversight and coordination. Documentation & Process Management * Own and maintain all project documentation * Create update reports to help align stakeholders and ensure everyone is informed and consulted as necessary * Keep the wheels moving – chasing gently and firmly where required to ensure no blockages * Alert the Project Director of any bottlenecks or likely delivery misses on the horizon * Help define and improve project processes to drive for the end goals Stakeholder Engagement * Schedule and facilitate meetings across multiple time zones, ensuring agendas, materials, and follow ups are well managed. * Act as a central point of contact for project communications, ensuring stakeholders remain informed and engaged. * Build strong working relationships across both organizations. Operational Support * Track progress against milestones and flag risks, issues, or dependencies proactively. * Support event related planning activities, ensuring operational readiness and smooth execution. * Assist with coordination of customer experience initiatives tied to the project. Required Skills & Experience Experience * Proven experience in project coordination or project management, ideally in a global or cross company environment. * It is not essential to have a sports or mass participation professional background if you can demonstrate great fit in other areas.  We would however look for a purpose connection – ie. a consistent interest in being active or inspiring activity in others in your non work life.    * Likewise formal project management qualifications are not required but our preferred candidates will have clear proof of delivering projects with multiple workstreams and moving parts in a high-pressure environment. Skills * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Able to work flexibly to accommodate global stakeholders and shifting priorities * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal * Enjoys working independently and being accountable * Ability to embrace ambiguity – ie “building the plane as we fly” * Numerate and familiar with working within budgets  * Comfortable working across time zones with anti-social hours  * Experience with managing stakeholders and confident engaging senior stakeholders eg. the London Marathon events CEO * Customer led mindset, delivering exceptional customer experience to our partner and our participants  * Calm, consistent, positive and resilient  * Familiarity with project management tools (such as Monday.com or GANTT charts)  * Previous experience in events or mass participation is a plus Working Style * Full time with hours discussed during interview to support global collaboration. Given the nature of the project this would suit someone who had flexibility in schedule rather than a fixed schedule.    * Collaborative, fast paced environment with high visibility across both organizations.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will oversee international event delivery by developing project plans, tracking milestones, and coordinating across global organizations. They will act as a central point of contact for stakeholders, manage project documentation, and ensure operational readiness for events.
