ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of a project.
  • Lead the project team.
  • Promote and demonstrate AZ SHE culture.
  • Perform CDM Principal Designer role.
  • Oversee all aspects of a project from design stage through to completion and handover.
  • Write up all project documentation, including Project Management Plan, change control, and handover documentation.
  • Submit progress reports to collaborators and senior managers.
  • Set standards and methodology for projects.
  • Build a working environment that improves team potential.
  • Take responsibility for projects throughout their lifecycle.
  • Define project scope and goals.
  • Manage project budgets.
  • Coordinate and manage project resources/team.
  • Communicate with collaborators to clarify desired outcomes.
  • Manage client/End User relationships.
  • Ensure relevant processes are followed on projects.
  • Administer allocation of jobs and budgets on projects.
  • Manage project personnel to achieve objectives.
  • Regularly review and analyze project scope.
  • Manage client/End User expectations.
  • Identify and manage project risks through risk assessment.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Lead multi-functional project teams.
  • Agree on project objectives.
  • Consider client interests.
  • Ensure quality standards are met.
  • Develop costs and schedules for commission and validation.
  • Develop training plans for clients, end users, collaborators, customers, partners, and team members.
  • Write/update plans, status reports before sponsor/management meetings.
  • Support and develop Project Engineer.
  • Support Project Planner for Planning & Scheduling.
  • Manage scope creep or gold plating activity.
  • Review all design, construction, and As-built Drawings.
  • Lead or support project PDRs.
  • Support Quantity Surveying Checks.
  • Review project work against achieved outcomes and make necessary corrections.
  • Check overall quality of work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, QA/QC policies, standards, and specifications.
  • Support Validation Engineer where required.
  • Respond to Design Engineers’ technical issues or queries.
  • Support or lead project review.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Professional engineering status
  • Risk management
  • Good facilitation and analytical skills
  • Ability to deliver results on time, on budget, and to high standards
  • Ability to quickly gain technical, behavioral, and contextual elements of a project
  • Project reporting
  • Knowledge and awareness of Project Management principles, documents, and plans
  • Running large (circa £3M) and small scale projects (£0.5M)
  • CDM role responsibilities (Principal Designer, Client etc.)
  • APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent project process
