Description

Full job description

Project Manager – Civil Earthworks & Environmental Rehabilitation | Pilbara FIFO (8/6) | 12-Month Contract

This role is for you if…

You're a project manager who takes full ownership — not someone who supports delivery, but the person accountable for it. You make the call when conditions change, raise issues early and straight, and plan thoroughly rather than rely on heroics. You read a contract as comfortably as a schedule, and you hold the line on safety when the pressure rises.

What you'll bring

  • 8+ years managing civil and/or mining construction projects, with full delivery and commercial accountability
  • Recent experience on a Tier-1 iron ore producer's projects, including working knowledge of their systems and permit-to-work frameworks
  • A track record on projects A$10M+, delivered safely and to margin
  • Strong commercial, contract and project-controls discipline, including Primavera P6 / MS Project, claims, VOWD, variations and forecasting
  • Experience within ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 systems and WHS Act 2020 (WA) Officer due diligence obligations
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) and the ability to obtain Tier-1 client site inductions

What you'll own

As Project Manager, you hold single-point accountability across safety, commercial, schedule and delivery. From mobilisation through to close-out, you'll:

  • Deliver to the client rehabilitation, HSE and quality standards, with stop-work authority, you're expected to use
  • Own the commercial position for budget, margin, VOWD, claims and variations
  • Drive the schedule, critical path and recovery actions
  • Lead a small, high-accountability site team and the day-to-day client relationship, including Traditional Owner engagement

The Opportunity

  • This is a full-time, minimum 12-month contract on a FIFO 8/6 roster. You'll lead a large-scale civil earthworks and site establishment programme supporting environmentally critical rehabilitation works for a Tier-1 mining client in the Pilbara, near Port Hedland — access roads, laydowns, drill pads and temporary facilities that enable a major investigation and rehabilitation programme, staged across on-tenure and off-tenure works and delivered through an Indigenous joint venture.
