ABOUT THE JOB YOU’RE CONSIDERING

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee complex mainframe development projects, ensuring successful execution and seamless integration with business processes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Mainframe technologies, including zOS, AS400, JCL, COBOL, REXX, and SAS, along with a strong background in project management, stakeholder management, risk assessment, and cost optimization. This role requires exceptional leadership skills to inspire teams, build relationships with stakeholders, and drive process improvements.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • PMP Certification
  • Strong working knowledge of zOS, AS400 operating systems and ITIL, COBOL, JCL, SAS, REXX languages, job control, and scripting.
  • Project Management & Stakeholder Management – Strong ability to manage large-scale projects and engage with stakeholders effectively.
  • Risk Management & Vendor Relationship Management – Ability to assess and mitigate risks while maintaining vendor collaborations.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting – Experience in managing project finances, optimizing costs, and resource planning.
  • Change Management & Process Improvements – Proficiency in implementing change management strategies and driving process enhancements.
  • Team Management – Strong leadership skills to mentor, guide, and motivate technical teams
Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, define project scope, set realistic timelines, and manage resources effectively.
  • Utilize expertise in Mainframe technologies, including subsystems, JCL, COBOL, and REXX.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, technical teams, and end users.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Efficiently allocate resources, track expenses, and optimize costs while ensuring project success.
  • Provide leadership to project teams, fostering collaboration and setting clear direction.
  • Oversee project execution, ensuring alignment with defined project plans and timelines.
  • Maintain effective communication channels, manage stakeholder expectations, and address concerns promptly.
  • Negotiate contracts, track deliverables, and ensure seamless vendor collaboration.
  • Assess the impact of mainframe migration on existing processes and workflows, ensuring smooth transitions.
