Position Summary:
The McGill Summer Choral Academy at the Schulich School of Music, McGill University, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager. Reporting directly to the Director of Choral Studies, the Project Manager will play a pivotal role in the planning, coordination, and execution of this summer intensive program aimed at singers and conductors of all levels passionate about choral music.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with all stakeholders including faculty, participants, sponsors, and partners.
  • Manage logistics including scheduling, facilities, contracts, and accommodations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of marketing and publicity strategies.
  • Coordinate guest instructors, conductors, and presenters.
  • Oversee registration and ticket sales.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records.
  • Assist with assessment and evaluation activities.
  • Assist with final reports as required.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably with multi-day events.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience working with volunteers.
  • Knowledge of the provincial, national, and international choral field.
  • Understanding of and connections within the Montreal Choral scene.

Qualifications:

  • A passion for choral music and the arts.
  • Previous experience in arts administration or event management.
  • Knowledge of choral music repertoire and practices preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Arts Administration, Music, etc.) an asset.
