JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Manager - MEP at DMS Mechanical Ltd. will be responsible for overseeing Mechanical, Plumbing, and HVAC projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project management standards, client specifications, and relevant regulations. The Project Manager will lead project teams, manage budgets and timelines, and serve as the primary contact for clients and stakeholders. The company is based in our Burnaby, BC office, and the full-time position will require work at a project site in the Metro Vancouver area, with occasional office work as needed from Monday to Friday.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in HVAC or construction industry in a project management role
  • Post Secondary education in project management, construction management, or relevant education in a project management field.
  • Certification in project management or PMP training/designation is an asset.
  • Possesses strong organizational and communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of standard office applications and project management software (e.g. Microsoft Office, Procore, ProjectSight, Bluebeam, Scheduling)
  • Experience in use of CAD, Revit and BIM software is an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a Clean Driver’s Abstract.
Responsibilities
  • Developing project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
  • Defining and managing project scope and deliverables based on client schedules and contractual obligation, ensuring they meet established quality standards and specifications
  • Ensuring that construction work meets applicable regulatory requirements including local, provincial, health and safety, TSCB, and federal jurisdictions.
  • Monitoring and reviewing project timelines and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Overseeing subtrade contract negotiations and management
  • Developing subtrade LOIs, scope of work, and contracts relevant to project
  • Reviewing and managing project budgets
  • Managing site material and allocating resources efficiently
  • Managing changes in material scope, requirements, and deliverables to site with procurement team, subtrades, and vendors
  • Addressing and resolving issues that arise during construction process, maintaining project continuity, and addressing client and company expectations.
  • Completion of weekly PM checklist
  • Ensuring project records are accurate and up to date.
  • Working with accounting department to ensure project closeout documents are filed and completed.
  • Understanding their Health and Safety responsibilities as outlined in the Health and Safety Program Manual
  • Ensuring all company and client Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed and enforced within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Engaging in monthly site safety inspections and actively participating in company and site safety meeting
  • Leading and managing diverse teams involved in the project, facilitating communication between team members, stakeholders, and other relevant parties.
