BBB is hiring an enthusiastic Project Manager to join our multi-disciplinary office in New York City, focusing on multi-family residential, commercial, and mixed-use hospitality projects. We are looking for someone who can guide clients through complex decision-making processes, using clear analysis and presentation skills.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong design sensibility combined with technical expertise, actively seeking to develop innovative concepts while managing high-performing teams in a collaborative environment. This individual will be responsible for coordinating all administrative and technical project efforts, ensuring effective execution. They will serve as the primary liaison for clients, completing projects on schedule, within budget, and to BBB’s high standards, all while maximizing client satisfaction.
In addition to working locally with a broad and diverse group of professionals at all stages of career development, new hires will also collaborate with BBB design professionals in the Boston, Washington, DC, and Miami offices. All BBB employees, including new hires, can participate in staff initiatives that advance professional skills, connect staff outside the realm of project work, and promote values of environmental and social well-being.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of managing projects and serving as the primary client contact for new construction and high-rise residential buildings.
  • Registered Architect required, and sustainability accreditation preferred.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of multi-family residential technical and code issues in New York.
  • Knowledgeable with various high-rise construction systems.
  • Proficiency in Production (ie, Revit), Presentation (ie, InDesign, Bluebeam), Management (ie, MS Suite), Communication, and QA/QC software (ie, Revisto).
  • Experience in preparing strategic plans for project success, including QA/QC review.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting projects to external stakeholder groups.
  • Fluent in the technical aspects of the project. Understands and can predict the workflow best suited to assign appropriate resources for each project phase.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to successful completion.
  • Estimate fees, determine the scope of work, and prepare proposals and contracts on multiple small/medium projects or one large project, complex project, or team.
  • Support the design process and ensure that the design is effectively communicated to key stakeholders (both internal and external) through regular meetings or other appropriate means.
  • Work with the Project Architect and designers to establish a timeframe for design decisions.
  • Manage project staffing and financials, including additional service requests, invoices, and other project account management.
  • Ensure the design team has adequate resources to complete their tasks.
  • Effectively delegates assignments to ensure an equitable balance of work suited to each team member’s core strengths.
