LNS Services is an industrial construction and maintenance contractor that provides project management, engineering, and construction services to heavy industrial facilities and processing plants throughout British Columbia. LNS has successfully completed a wide range of engineering and construction projects in the materials handling, forestry, manufacturing and aggregates sectors.
We are searching for a Project Manager to join the LNS team . In this position, you will be responsible for managing site construction activities for a wide range of complex heavy industrial installation and maintenance projects ranging in value between $50K and $ 10MM - most often for bulk materials handling equipment and associated structures. You will be responsible for all aspects of successful project execution, providing overall leadership and control of the project, typically involving scope definition, scheduling, mobilization, engineering, design, procurement, subcontracts, construction, commissioning and closeout.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Mechanical or structural technologist, engineer or tradesperson with extensive practical project management experience on applicable project work
  • 8+ years of work experience in engineering, construction or other related technical field with increasing levels of responsibility and development
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the industrial construction sector
  • Significant experience mentoring, coaching and leading a team and the ability to hold members responsible for their performance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all stakeholder levels – including suppliers and fabricators, field and office staff, consultancies, and clients and owners
  • Estimating and business development experience is an asset
  • Attention to detail but ability to focus on the big picture
  • Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Strong MS Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook skills
  • Outstanding time management, prioritization, multitasking, and organizational skills

Responsibilities
  • Work with the business development team to secure new work contracts for LNS
  • Assist the estimating manager in developing project estimates
  • Work with project stakeholders to develop proposals from project estimates (scope, schedule, cost, team, execution plan)
  • Review plans & specifications to determine scope of work and define project requirements
  • Manage projects including scope definition, scheduling, mobilization, engineering, design, procurement, subcontracts, construction, commissioning and closeout.
  • Effectively manage project scope by ensuring that any changes to scope are documented and approved using a change order process
  • Ensure a work environment where the safety and health of all employees, subcontractors, and individuals is paramount
  • Proactively lead, coach and motivate project team members and be accountable for team performance and results
  • Provide discipline specific technical mentorship to the engineering and field teams
  • Ensure regular communication and proactive client relationship management
  • Support the development and execution of the company strategy
  • Work with a high degree of professionalism, skill and motivation, ensuring that each project has the resources to meet or exceed project goals
  • Provide excellent customer service to our clients, communicating effectively and generally making LNS Services the partner of choice
