THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our Nuclear subsector, a key component of WSP’s ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients in the nuclear industry. Our team offers a wide range of services, including technical and feasibility studies, project management, detailed design, procurement, site management, quality surveillance, commissioning and asset management. This division is operating at an exciting time as nuclear power and new technology solutions are developing globally, with Canada as a leader in nuclear refurbishments, nuclear new builds, incredible capital projects portfolios and a deep history in nuclear supply chain.
WSP is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager, Nuclear to join one of our Ontario offices. Several projects will require travel to Tiverton, Ontario, Toronto Ontario, Saint John, New Brunswick, Pickering and Oshawa, Ontario.
This position will be responsible for supporting the project management team on delivering nuclear project and program deliverables on complex projects, where nuclear safety culture

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO WSP:

  • A demonstrated knowledge of nuclear safety culture and past application of behaviours supporting this culture
  • Minimum Diploma or Degree in Project Management or Engineering
  • Must have at least 8+ years of experience managing projects in the nuclear industry
  • Ideally PMP designation with continued education and ongoing industry involvement
  • Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team player
  • A self-motivated individual looking for advancement opportunities
  • Ability to easily interact with clients in a multi-disciplined environment
  • Required: Must be able to pass Security Clearance

Responsibilities
  • You will lead exciting projects and a team to deliver high quality outputs for our clients, on time and on budget
  • You will lead your team members and resources for your projects, to develop and manage of project cost, schedule, risk and quality, ensuring safety, client expectations and needs are met
  • You will ensure all integration points for your project are identified and managed with stakeholders, with risks identified and managed through the team environment
  • You will manage coordination of Engineering Deliverables with discipline leads
  • You will prepare and maintain project schedule and cost control reports
  • You will be managing project changes
  • You will prepare and maintain HSE and Quality procedures for each project
  • You will handle Owner and Stakeholder Reporting; including representing WSP at meetings, presentations and addressing issues raised by Owners/Clients;
  • You will respond in a reasonable and a timely manner in matters relating to the project scope of work.
  • You have experience in change management on complex projects.
  • You will ensure that all lessons learned from previous projects and those from the respective phases of the projects under their control are captured, implemented and reported
  • You will handle other duties as assigned/required
