Responsibilities

THE ROLE

A multi-disciplined Civils subcontractor is looking for an experienced and proactive Project Manager to lead and deliver complex demolition, structural cut & carve, and internal strip-out projects across the UK, with a focus on London and major urban centres. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in demolition and structural alterations, particularly on live, constrained, or heritage sites, and will be responsible for managing project delivery from pre-construction through to final handover.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take full ownership of site-based delivery on strip-out, demolition, and cut & carve schemes, typically valued between £500k and £10m+.
  • Lead project planning, resourcing, programme management, and H&S coordination.
  • Work closely with clients, structural engineers, temporary works designers, and the internal delivery team.
  • Ensure project compliance with CDM regulations, environmental controls, and demolition-specific standards (e.g. BS 6187).
  • Manage site teams, subcontractors, and logistics on tight, city-centre or live operational sites.
  • Monitor quality, productivity, commercial performance, and health & safety.
  • Identify and resolve issues proactively to avoid project delays or cost overruns.
  • Conduct regular site progress meetings and report updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure delivery is in line with contract specifications, programme milestones, and budget.
