Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a seasoned Program/Project Manager with experience supporting U.S. government programs, ideally within the Department of Defense (DoD) or a federal civilian agency. This role will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of mission-critical initiatives, ensuring alignment with agency objectives, compliance with federal standards, and effective stakeholder engagement. Candidates must be comfortable operating in structured environments and managing projects with security and regulatory constraints.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, IT, or related field (Master’s or PMP preferred)
  • ️ 5+ years of experience managing federal government projects, preferably within DoD, DHS, VA, or similar agencies
  • ️ Active security clearance (e.g., Secret, Top Secret, or ability to obtain)
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations (FAR), contract vehicles, and compliance standards
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint)
  • ️ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience briefing senior government officials
  • ✅ Certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or ITIL are highly desirable
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage federal programs/projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including government stakeholders, contractors, and technical staff
  • Develop project documentation in compliance with agency standards (e.g., PMBOK, DoD 5000 series, or agency-specific frameworks)
  • Ensure adherence to security protocols, including handling of classified or sensitive information
  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to government clients and internal leadership
  • Support contract execution, including deliverables tracking, performance metrics, and reporting
  • Manage scope, change control, and risk mitigation in alignment with federal acquisition and governance processes
  • Apply project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) tailored to agency requirements
