We are actively seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager (POTASH) looking to grow their career and join our Prairie team. We are ideally looking for a candidate living within or in proximity our Saskatoon, SK. The position is Monday to Friday and will have frequent visits to site.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have 5–10 years of progressive project management experience in heavy industrial or mining environments, with at least 3–5 years in underground mining operations, preferably in potash.
  • Proven track record managing capital or sustaining projects in active mine sites, including underground infrastructure, shaft work, backfill systems, or materials handling.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, managing contractors, and delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget under complex or constrained conditions.
  • Strong project management skills – proficient in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and executing projects in high-risk, live operational environments.
  • Technical understanding of underground mining systems – including ventilation, ground control, mine infrastructure, and regulatory compliance.
  • Leadership and team coordination – ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and contractors, promote accountability, and foster collaboration across departments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – able to influence, resolve conflict, and build trust with frontline workers, supervisors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities – especially under pressure, with a focus on safety, operational continuity, and cost control.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools – such as MS Project, Primavera (P6), or similar systems for tracking progress and reporting.
  • Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance – thorough knowledge of OHS legislation and mining regulations, with a proactive safety mindset.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, the Project Manager is responsible and accountable for the following:

  • Plan and manage all phases of mining projects, including scope development, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Oversee execution of underground construction and infrastructure upgrades, including headings, ventilation, conveyors, and ground support, ensuring adherence to engineering and safety standards.
  • Provide leadership to cross-functional teams, including internal staff and contractors, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and alignment with project and operational goals.
  • Monitor and manage individual and team performance, addressing issues promptly, recognizing strong contributions, and ensuring alignment with project and operational objectives.
  • Track performance metrics and drive accountability, using project controls, reporting tools, and continuous improvement practices to meet performance targets.
  • Coordinate closely with mine operations, maintenance, and safety teams to align project schedules with production plans and ensure safe integration of project work.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including Saskatchewan Mines Regulations and OHS standards, particularly in high-risk underground environments.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and procurement, ensuring cost control, efficient resource use, and timely delivery of materials to remote and underground locations.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including leadership, contractors, Indigenous groups, and government agencies to maintain transparency and build relationships
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, including engineers, contractors, and operational staff, to coordinate tasks, monitor performance, and resolve issues.
