Responsibilities

WSLHD is funded under the NSW the Priority Populations Immunisation Program (PPIP), to develop and implement strategies to increase adult immunisation in under vaccinated communities. Implementation of the PPIP will be aligned with the NSW Immunisation Strategy 2024-2028 which aims to increase opportunistic vaccination within clinical services. The Public Health Unit has been nominated to lead the development and implementation of this PPIP project within the district, through the establishment of a designated PPIP project team.
As part of the PPIP, WSLHD plans to develop a District-wide immunisation strategy. Establishing a governance structure for immunisation across the district, will support integration of prevention through opportunistic immunisation at every point of patient contact with hospital-based and outpatient clinical services. The PPIP will also liaise with district community health services to support their immunisation goals and activities for improving immunisation coverage in priority or under-vaccinated population groups.
This Project Manager role will be responsible for project management activities necessary to support development and implementation of the PPIP.
