The opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a project manager to support Council’s Reserves and Facilities projects and asset management activities. This work involves a range of project management activities including design, consenting, contract writing, procurement, management of construction and the deliver of handover of the asset. Projects could include coastal sea walls, development of a reserve over multiple years, jetties, walkways, car parks, structures, playgrounds and sportfields. To set you up for success, you’ll have Project management of infrastructure – reserves and facilities projects. This includes compiling construction contracts, procurement of small to medium sized projects and good project management practices. Understanding and experience of how best practice landscaping is designed and constructed. Experience working with Heritage New Zealand and undertaking physical works within the confides of an Authority to Modify. Understanding of NZ Playground Standards. Knowledge of local government legislation and statutory requirements relevant to the position and knowledge of Council processes (RMA, Reserves Act & LGA). Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Qualifications- Bachelors qualification in engineering or landscape design. Project management training (e.g. Prince 2 or similar).
