  • An exciting opportunity to work in the Emergency Management Victoria, State Control Centre, as a Project Manager
  • Full time, Fixed term for 12 months
  • Attractive VPS 6 salary between $138,631 - $185,518 + superannuation

WHAT SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE SHOULD A PROJECT MANAGER HAVE?

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Expert knowledge and proven ability to apply project management assurance and delivery controls to complex and high-risk projects, preferably in a Government setting
  • Demonstrated experience and application of organisational change management, preferably in a project delivery setting.
  • Proven ability to maintain a collaborative work environment and provide project management mentoring and coaching.
  • Knowledge of the emergency management sector would be desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in Project or Change Management would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of a new operating model for the State Control Centre, ensuring a smooth transition and adoption.

Key tasks include:

  • Develop, manage, and execute the implementation plan for the new State Control Centre operating model, ensuring milestones, risks, and dependencies are effectively managed
  • Design and implement a structured change management approach to support employees through the transition and embed new ways of working
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clear communication, managing expectations, and fostering collaboration to drive project success
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communication plan, ensuring timely, transparent, and tailored messaging to inform and engage all impacted staff
  • Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project success, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
