JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Project Manager, Security Systems reporting to the Manager of Security Operations, plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the hospital’s physical security infrastructure. This role serves as the subject matter expert in security technology, ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Key responsibilities include managing access control, video surveillance, and other security systems while coordinating with internal partners, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless operations. Additionally, this position supports with investigations, provides technical expertise, and contributes to policy development to align with hospital and regulatory requirements. With a strong focus on project management, system optimization, and risk mitigation, this role is integral in advancing the hospital’s security technology framework.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Troubleshoot security system issues and investigate incidents.
  • Recommend equipment replacement and upgrade schedules based on lifecycle analysis.
  • Review and analyze hardware reports and trend data to optimize system performance.
  • Support existing accounts by analyzing work orders, addressing complaints, and conducting system tests.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the Security Department’s success and integration within the THP community.
  • Oversee the ID badging process
  • Plan and execute capital projects related to security infrastructure and technology.
  • Train and develop Security and Parking staff on new system implementations and operational best practices.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities and collect data through security systems for reporting and analysis.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace inoperative security equipment and conduct functionality tests.
  • Ensure the efficient operation and technical support of security systems, including cameras, card readers, and access control modules.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security system policies and procedures to mitigate risks affecting patients, visitors, employees, and assets.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure compliance with security policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations related to security systems are met per service agreements.
  • Maintain the integrity and effectiveness of physical security systems.
  • Provide recommendations for offsite security system implementations.
  • Oversee all aspects of RTLS, patient wandering, and staff duress.
  • Assist in overseeing Fire Safety operations as directed by senior management.
  • Adapt job duties as needed based on departmental and organizational requirements as determined by senior management.
  • Required to travel between all THP sites & other THP off site locations as needed
  • Flexibility to support with emergencies as required.
  • Required to be on-call on a six-week rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of practical related experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as construction schematics, operating and procedure manuals
  • Project Management
  • Physical Security Professional (PSP) credentialing from ASIS
  • Familiarity with industry trends and standards
  • Demonstrate uncompromising commitment to integrity
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with RTLS system
  • Have familiarity with security administration tools, security scanning tools, web application technologies, technical security implementations, access controls, physical security controls and administration
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint and common software tools to create reports
  • Demonstrate an understanding and ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports and make presentations

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • At minimum, completion of 2-year college program in Electronic Control Systems or recognized equivalent required
  • Axis Network Camera Certification
  • CCNA Certification - CCNA Security/CCNA Routing & Switching
  • Genetec Security Center 5.x Omnicast (Video) Technical Certification
  • Genetec Security Center 5.x Synergis (Access Control) Technical CertificationGenetec Video Management Software
