The Company:
Great opportunity to work for a well-established Mechanical, Electrical & Building Services Contractor operating across the Southwest, Southeast and Home Counties. With over 50 years of experience, they deliver exceptional projects for commercial, industrial, healthcare, government and MOD clients.
Due to continued success and expansion, the team are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their Building Division in the reactive maintenance and refurbishment projects across multiple MOD sites
The Role:
As Project Manager, you will be you will report directly to the MOD Senior Programme Manager and be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of the projects, such as Reactive maintenance, small works and ablutions refurbishments across multiple MOD locations. You will manage all aspects from initial client enquiry and site survey, through to quotation, programming, project delivery, site snagging, final handover and creation of Care and Maintenance Manuals.

Duties will include:

  • Attend Client Facing project requirement, scope of works meetings, provide value engineered solutions
  • Undertake detailed site surveys
  • Create accurate project estimates, labour/resource breakdowns.
  • Develop full project programs using tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel or equivalent
  • Attend pre-start client meetings
  • Lead project delivery teams and subcontractors on-site
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely on time, within scope and on budget
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, stakeholders and internal departments
  • Provide progress updates and resolve project issues proactively
  • Take ownership of project budgets & expenditure
  • Ensure works are carried out in compliance with MOD and CDM standards

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Project Manager in reactive maintenance small works, and refurbishments.
  • Experience conducting site surveys
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to prepare detailed project estimates
  • Experience creating project programs and managing end-to-end delivery
  • Valid SMSTS, and First Aid certifications
  • Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of construction practices and relevant health & safety legislation
  • Full UK Driving Licence

The Person:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in delivering reactive and refurbishment projects, ideally within live MOD, healthcare, or similar regulated environments. You must be comfortable operating both commercially and technically with the ability to survey, estimate and manage delivery.
