  • Salary: $125,296 to $130,604 per annum (dependent on qualification), plus 12% superannuation
  • A Fixed term full time position, working up to 6 months
    Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital
    This is a six-month opportunity, ideally 1 FTE, however flexible arrangements can be made to accommodate 0.8 - 0.6 FTE for Project Manager within the Innovation and Improvement Unit. You will be leading and managing the implementation of service development and other improvement projects across the hospital. Some of the projects may include Improving Patient Flow through the Access to Care Program and/or identifying new opportunities for improvement.
    The primary purpose of this role is to support the management and co-ordination of projects assigned to the Innovation and Improvement Unit. This role will lead the successful implementation of projects assigned by the Performance and Improvement Manager. Key responsibilities include working closely with project stakeholders to develop project objectives and plans and support implementation to ensure the objectives of the project are achieved and delivered on time and on budget.

The Position

  • Accountable for the successful execution of projects, within approved project timelines and in compliance with project methodology.
  • Planning, forecasting, resourcing, scheduling, prioritising and coordinating project activities.
  • Effectively managing project scope by ensuring that changes are documented, approved and registered.
  • Management and evaluation of project outcomes and reporting.
  • Managing risks and issues including identifying, registering, driving mitigation treatment activities, escalating and reporting as required.
  • Ensuring that the documented quality standards of the project are met.
  • Responsible for the preparation of project reports and other management products as directed by the project methodology.
  • Coordinating and reporting to Project Governance bodies as directed.
  • Managing stakeholders to ensure project expectations are understood, agreed and met.
  • Ensuring appropriate project governance is set up and maintained, coordinating and reporting to project governance bodies as directed.

Position Requirements
You will hold a relevant university qualification and possess 3–5 years of relevant experience. You will have a strong background in supporting project management functions through the full project life cycle, with proven experience in delivering successful outcomes for complex, organisation-wide or cross-functional change initiatives. A demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of formal project management methodologies, combined with the ability to think laterally and develop innovative solutions, will be essential in ensuring project success.
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) are required to effectively consult with key stakeholders, build productive relationships, and provide expert advice on project methodology. The successful candidate will demonstrate proven ability in leading project groups, along with excellent time management and organisational skills. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and sound computer literacy are also essential to support the delivery of high-quality project outcomes.
