This role is not for a specific project but for a place in our team. The role will at times involve direct project delivery, and at other times tendering and winning work. Fulton Hogan’s Civil Structures team build some of the most interesting Civil projects - Our projects are technically challenging and incredibly rewarding. There is a lot of opportunity for the right person! This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your engineering expertise while contributing to meaningful projects that benefit communities. This diverse portfolio, includes work in the following areas: Deep shaft construction for pump stations Bridge and complex structural works Underpasses and transport structures Major infrastructure projects and upcoming Water Infrastructure projects Wastewater treatment plants and water treatment facilities Wharves, bridges, storage tanks and pipelines In addition to the above you will be responsible for: Planning the execution of the works and developing construction methodology for all elements of the works Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies Developing construction plans and documentation Ensuring effective collaboration between internal teams and subcontractors Providing a monthly forecast of cost to complete to the Contracts Manager, and an estimate of the work completed in terms of percentages complete to the planner Maximising efficiency in resource, equipment, and workforce utilisation Reporting progress and performance to the engineering manager Maintaining and drive a safe and tidy site, assisting in the development of management systems and ensuring compliance within your team Undertaking regular inspections to ensure that safety, environmental, and quality standards are achieved across the project Good Work equals Good Benefits Company Vehicle with personal use KiwiSaver employer contributions Fuel discount card for relatives Parental leave top-up payment with additional return to work support Family scholarships Ongoing training and development, career growth and progression opportunities Great discounts at a wide range of retailers Medical insurance “an eligibility period applies” Life insurance At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us. We’re looking for someone with: Hold a BE, NZCE or a Diploma in Civil Engineering ideally Level 7/8 NZQF Hold a minimum of 10 years + post graduate experience, offering a depth of expertise in a range of civil construction project delivery. NZ based experience is preferred but not essential. Very good English written and spoken ability Proven experience in building and maintaining strong working relationships Concise communication across the different project teams, providing an in-depth handover to the project team each morning Able to demonstrate commercial ability, including cost control and programming, you work within budget, and you have proven success with positive commercial outcomes Please tailor your CV to a maximum of three pages.
