Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We offer flexibility in start and end times while maintaining core business hours for shared availability across the team.    Our Civil Structures State of Good Repair (SOGR) Delivery team in the Integrated Operations Division (OD) is looking for a Project Manger (Structures) to join the team! You will develop bridges and structures projects encompassing design and construction, including developing project scope, schedule, quality, and budget objectives while integrating requirements associated with corporate standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures, with minimal impact on operations and customers. Project types will range from culvert replacements/repairs, retaining wall replacements/repairs, bridge rehabilitations to bridge replacements.   What will I be doing? * Develop tender specifications and requirements, evaluate submissions and recommend contract awards for management approval. * Create requirements for and reviewing consultant studies together with design proposals, making implementation recommendations. * Identify any risks (current or potential) to successful project completion and creating plans to mitigate or avoid barriers/issues. * Manage consultant contracts ensuring project timelines, budget and quality of submissions while providing input with design reviews. * Oversee contractor work and performance to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. * Verify capital and operating budgets and expenditures allocated to maintenance and/or rehabilitation programs/projects to ensure appropriate cost control and proactively managing variances. * Plan and manage SOGR capital projects that meet or exceed safety, cost, schedule, asset management and quality objectives. * Attend Rail Corridor Access calls as required to successful ensure proper work blocks and hours to complete scope of work.   What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need? * Completion of a degree in Structural Engineering, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent. * Demonstrated years' experience in planning, monitoring and managing structural rehabilitation projects within the railway corridor. * Knowledgeable in and able to deploy project management principles and practices, including budget and schedule controls and monitoring, review and reporting on overall progress and performance. * Strong ability to multitask and manage several projects concurrently while managing work time and schedule. * A valid G driver’s license is required to travel to various site locations, meetings, etc. (approximately 20%).  Must meet and maintain the corporate standard for a good driving record. * Ability to obtain CROR (Canadian Operating Rules) Qualification and Metrolinx Personal Track Safety (PTS) qualification and other role related certificates. Working Conditions:   * Works a standard 36.25 work week with a requirement to be available outside of regular office hours to maintain business relationships and address worksite issues. * Frequent exposure to all types of weather conditions and risks (e.g., uneven ground, operating equipment) when visiting work/construction sites.
