Description

An Industrial Tank Cleaning Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of tank cleaning projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution. This role involves managing customer and vendor relationships, supervising project teams, and ensuring work is completed according to company policies and regulations. Reporting directly to the VP of tank cleaning.

Responsibilities

Project Management: Direct and manage tank cleaning operations, from planning through execution and completion. This includes assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and troubleshooting issues that arise on-site.
Safety Oversight: Enforce strict health and safety standards, ensure all team members follow safety protocols, and maintain required certifications
Extended hours may be necessary based on job demands or deadlines.
Maintain a strong presence on job sites to provide field leadership, compliance, performance, and support crews
Client Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for customers, maintaining relationships by delivering quality, timely services and clear communication throughout the project cycle.
Team Leadership: Supervise crews, coordinate with vendors, and ensure all project participants are properly trained and equipped for confined space entry, elevated work, and use of respiratory protection.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., API 650, MT3000) reporting requirements, and industry best practices.
Resource Management: Oversee materials, equipment allocation, and budget tracking to maximize operational efficiency and cost control.
Travel & Scheduling: Be willing and able to travel extensively (up to 80% of the time) to various job sites. Availability for overtime, weekends, and occasional holiday work is required.
Experience: 5+ years in tank cleaning (black oil, asphalt, diesel, jet fuel, gasoline, refinery slop/process water, ethanol tanks preferred).
Certifications: Tank Entry Supervisor
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Office, Excel and project management and scheduling software.
Physical Requirements: Able to stand 100% of the workday, lift 50lbs, wear respiratory protection for extended periods, work at heights, and enter confined spaces.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with management, vendors, and field teams.
Preparation of project bids and reports
Responsible for improving operational systems and processes, policy compliance, and documentation
Occasional work in hazardous environments
