Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Management Team Lead to join our Delft office and drive the growth and success of our global project management function. In this pivotal role, you will build and lead a high-performing team, establish robust frameworks, and provide strategic guidance to ensure the successful delivery of our international project portfolio.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s a plus).
  • Minimum 7 years in project management, with proven leadership of project managers in an international environment.
  • Experience with commercial space projects/programs.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and best practices for global teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and optimize project management frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with cultural awareness.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Wrike, MS Project, Jira, Asana) is a plus.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Building and managing agile teams.
  • Experience with space propulsion projects and technologies.
  • Managing various contract types (firm fixed price, cost-plus, etc.).
  • Planning and delivering complex projects on time, on budget, and to specification.
  • Strong executive communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, and influence skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, changing, and ambiguous environments.
Responsibilities
  • Global Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and develop a collaborative, results-oriented team of project managers across international projects.
  • Framework Architect: Design and implement a comprehensive project management framework, including methodologies, tools, and reporting processes.
  • Portfolio Oversight: Lead the development and execution of project management plans for our portfolio, ensuring successful delivery of customer projects for global customers.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Monitor portfolio health, highlighting risks, resource constraints, and key metrics to management.
  • Resource Champion: Identify gaps and optimize resource allocation across projects with an international focus. Liaise with internal teams to track project procurement and project technology development (RND dependencies).
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote best practices and implement improvements across the project management function. Support Quality Management along the entire project execution.
  • Communication Hub: Facilitate cross-department collaboration, navigating cultural and time-zone differences effectively.
