Job Summary: The Project Manager is a full-time, salaried role requiring approximately 45 hours per week, depending on project volume. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects on schedule and within budget, managing resources, and coordinating team efforts to ensure successful project completion.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 1-2 years of construction field experience, with prior experience in a Superintendent or PM role. Must have knowledge of electrical components; NEC; NFPA 70E, 99, 110; and OSHA regulations.
  • Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training in electrical installation is desired.
  • Competencies: Strong organizational, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, and manage project timelines effectively.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid Virginia Driver’s License is required, along with an acceptable driving record as defined by our insurer and must pass an acceptable background check.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks typical of construction work, including kneeling, climbing, bending, crawling, lifting 50+ lbs., and working with arms overhead. Must tolerate various weather conditions and uneven surfaces. Office tasks include prolonged sitting, bending, crouching, reaching, and computer/phone use. Must have functional vision for reading, hearing for communication, and clear verbal communication skills in person and by phone.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of project development from initiation to completion.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Develop project plans and communication documents.
  • Communicate expectations to team members.
  • Estimate resources and manpower needed.
  • Manage project teams, including foremen, ensuring productivity and adherence to work rules.
  • Supervise field labor, including administrative duties, site safety, equipment use, and subcontractor management.
  • Ensure best installation practices are followed.
  • Maintain financial oversight, including billing, receivables, retainages, vendor purchasing, and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Process and negotiate change orders, maintaining logs.
  • Track project progress, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Develop reports, proposals, and project documentation.
  • Identify risks, manage scope changes, and create contingency plans.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate project teams.
  • Foster and maintain business relationships.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and implement best practices for future projects.
