A Project Manager position is available in the Division of Precision Physics (Scientific Director: Nathalie Picqué) at the Max Born Institute in Berlin, Germany. We are looking for someone who, in close cooperation with the Scientific Director, will coordinate the relevant organisational and management tasks related to third party funding in the division.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You have completed a doctoral degree, preferably in Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, or related disciplines or you have previous experience in managing third-party funding and research projects. You are excited about science in general and interested in working at the interface between research and administration. Some experience, interest and/or demonstrated talent in organisational and management roles, preferably in an academic context, is an advantage.
  • You have knowledge of national and international research framework programmes, funding structures and mechanisms, and third-party funding management.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and are a team player.
  • You have a flexible and proactive approach to work, including the ability to set and change priorities.
  • You have a high level of integrity and are able to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • You are highly reliable and have good time management skills.
  • You will have excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and German. The working language will be English.
  • You will have excellent computer skills, including a working knowledge of writing, presentation and illustration software (preferably Word, Excel, Keynote, Adobe).
