Looking to grow our services in the Pacific Northwest and expand our presence with localities and WSDOT in the region, RK&K seeks to hire a Project Manager in Seattle to support our Transportation team. As a senior member of our team, you will focus on leading a variety of dynamic pursuits and projects as it relates to transportation, with a key focus on supporting our regional growth.. As a Transportation Project Manager with RK&K you will support public agencies on traffic design and analysis engineering programs throughout our current and future portfolio. Essential Functions * Perform a variety of tasks, including traffic engineering design plans, preliminary engineering design, transportation planning studies, and traffic operations analysis * Support projects for all modes of travel including highway, bus, rail, bicycle and pedestrian in urban, suburban and rural environments * Prepare documentation and design plans for traffic control devices, including traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, temporary traffic control, lighting, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) * Complete studies and develop high quality traffic reports with limited direction and be able to clearly, professionally present that information to our clients on site and virtually * Utilize traffic analysis/simulation tools to perform traffic modeling and simulations * Prepare technical reports and presentations * Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plans * Direct project staff and sub-consultants * Serve as liaison between client and firm * Execute QA/QC for completeness and accuracy of design work * Provide engineering judgment and initiative within the Traffic Engineering field Required Skills and Experience * Ten (10) + years of progressive experience in traffic engineering * Experience working with WSDOT and local municipalities * Exceptional writing, verbal communication and presentation skills including public speaking * Experience with Highway Safety Manual, Highway Capacity Manual and AASHTO guidelines * Traffic control device design (signals, signing and marking, temporary traffic control, ITS) experience using MUTCD . * Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic and VISSIM (or simulation analysis software) * Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related * Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain within six months. Preferred Skills and Experience * Masters Degree in Civil Engineering * Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) * Experience supervising other traffic engineers Other Duties This job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA).
