The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a highly motivated project manager with a background in academic-community partnerships, community health, health equity, health education and curriculum development. The individual will coordinate between UCSF and UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (UCANR) and provide support to the Department of Pediatrics’ Health Equity and Community Engagement projects as needed.
UCANR connects the power of UC research with local communities to improve the lives of all Californians. UCSF is part of the 10-campus University of California, and the only of its campuses dedicated to graduate and professional education specifically through a singular focus on health. Leveraging the strengths and expertise of UCANR and UCSF provides a potent and unique opportunity to bring these vital elements together with the goal of improving health in communities across California. Throughout the development and implementation of this partnership, UCSF will work in close consultation and will co-design with ANR leads. We will focus on health issues prioritized by ANR academic and program staff that impact communities disproportionally burdened by historical and systemic inequities. The main goals of this 3 year project: 1) Establish the partnership between UCSF and ANR 2) Create a responsive faculty development and health information dissemination program
The Project Manager will serve as a point of contact for the UCSF-UCANR partnership and will also support Department health equity and community engagement projects. Duties include developing and helping to maintain project timelines, workplans, project budgeting updates and tracking, reporting on deliverables, communication and coordination with UCSF and UCANR faculty and staff, event and meeting coordination, needs assessments, trainings and curricula on health topics, engagement with UCANR staff and other CCCH and Department of Pediatrics partners, and program evaluation.
The qualified candidate will work closely with the leadership of the project in the departments of pediatrics, family medicine and internal medicine and UCANR as well as with project partners and UCSF faculty and staff across the UCSF enterprise. The individual will be expected to work independently, identifying problems that are hindering the optimal operation of the project, and managing the entire problem-solving process - researching and analyzing information, identifying and recommending potential solutions, and presenting the finished product in the form of a written recommendation or a completed project. As a new position in a new partnership with UCANR, the position requires outstanding communication, cultural humility, creativity, flexibility, and an entrepreneurial approach.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
