The Role Our NSW based Mining group is looking for a Project Manager with a strong design and engineering background to manage the delivery of small to medium packages. This role blends project management, design management, and technical coordination, supporting multidisciplinary teams across studies, design, and delivery phases. * Manage the end‑to‑end delivery of small to medium project packages within WSP’s Mining portfolio * Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary engineering design teams (internal and external) * Act as the primary interface between technical leads, clients, and the broader project team * Plan, monitor, and control scope, budgets, schedules, risks, and quality outcomes * Provide design management oversight to ensure engineering outputs meet contractual, technical, and client requirements * Support bid preparation, project setup, and governance processes in line with WSP systems * Manage subcontractors and consultants delivering defined scopes of work * Identify opportunities for efficiency, continuous improvement, and value‑added outcomes * Maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders across NSW and nationally   About You * Proven experience in project management within mining, resources, or heavy industry environments * Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline, additionally a formal Project Management qualifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, AIPM) is desirable * Background in engineering or design management (civil, mechanical, electrical, or similar) * Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering design teams * Strong understanding of design delivery phases (concept, study, detailed design) * Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, scope, and risk * Confident stakeholder and client engagement skills * Experience delivering consulting services within a professional services environment desirable   Why WSP? * Opportunity to work on a diverse range of mining and resources projects across NSW and Australia * Flexible base location in either Newcastle or Sydney * Strong pipeline of mining work across studies, approvals, and delivery phases * Access to WSP’s global technical expertise, systems, and career development pathways * Inclusive, collaborative culture with a focus on professional growth
