Located in Hamburg, the private and independent Hamburg Ship Model Basin - HSVA - is a service and consulting company for clients in the maritime industry worldwide. Requirements

  • At least second level university degree (MSc, PhD), preferably with knowledge of measuring techniques, fluid mechanics, naval architecture, mechanical engineering or comparable fields
  • Good management and self-organisation skills with a structured way of working
  • Very good knowledge and professional experience in applied marine hydrodynamics with a deep background in either:
  • Testing equipment and testing facilities
  • Resistance and propulsion
  • Cavitation, hydroacoustic and propellers
  • Seakeeping and manoeuvring
  • Ice technology
  • Motivated to take responsibilities
  • Team player and strong communicator
  • Self-motivated lifelong learner
  • Good computer skills, preferable programming skills
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with experimental facilities, including flexible working times
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • Preferably German language skills or willingness to learn Germa
Responsibilities
  • Project management including
  • Organizing project work
  • Monitor project progress and budget
  • Conducting of model tests in different facilities
  • Consulting services for customers and preparing quotations
  • Internal communication and coordination
  • Scientific responsibility and analysis of results
  • Reporting and presentation in German and English
  • Development of customized solutions in your field of expertise
  • Development and research in the above mentioned areas
