ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
- The Albuskjell, Vest Ekofisk and Tommeliten Gamma fields are all gas condensate fields with prior production history where production ended when processing and transportation systems at the Ekofisk center were converted to new installations in 1998.
- The rights holders in Albuskjell, Vest Ekofisk and Tommeliten Gamma fields are currently evaluating redevelopment of these fields and have identified a concept of joint development referred to as the Previously Produced Fields Project.
- The selected concept consists of topside modifications and new subsea infrastructure with a total of four subsea production systems to produce back to Ekofisk field center via a common production pipeline.
- The operation of the subsea facilities will be controlled from the Ekofisk field center.
- Plan for development and operation (PUD) of the fields is scheduled to be delivered to the authorities at the end of 2025 with start of production planned for 2028/2029.
- Ensure that material and metallurgy design and fabrication requirements for the project are met, and that materials are designed and delivered in compliance with regulatory- and Company requirements for safety and operability.
- Ensure that industry best practices are taken care of in material selection and fabrication processes.
- The position will have an active role in supporting the project QM and material lead with detailed document reviews and Supplier engagement, particularly towards subsea umbilical, riser and flowlines (SURF) deliveries.Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Regulatory and Company compliance (NORSOK, Company TCD, ISO and Industry RP series).
- Support deliveries of SURF incl. Company Provided Items (CPIs) from qualification, pre-production engagement through to deliveries, including line pipe, inline components, valves, PLRs and umbilical.
- Follow qualifications of raw material and fabrication processes (e.g. welding and surface treatment)
- Support other project elements, such as SPS and brownfield as requested.
- Review and provide input to supplier material-, fabrication-, welding- and surface treatment related documentation.
- Review material- and fabrication test reports.
- Participate in bid evaluation processes.
- Review fabrication yard facilities, processes and readiness.
- Conduct ITP interventions (pre-production meetings and critical fabrication activities) at Suppliers premises.
- Process and follow up technical queries from contractors and Operations.
- Raise awareness of potential non-conformances and less than best practices to the project.
- Report technical non-conformances and present proposals and alternative solutions when required.
- Attend and actively contribute in technical materials and metallurgy discipline meetings.
- Day-to-day contact with contractors’ materials and metallurgy engineers.
- Selection and evaluation of technology, indentifying integration and infrastructure issues.
- Follow up contractors’ evaluation of technology and provide necessary interface with Operations during design stages.
- Attend project and inter-discipline technical meetings.
- Attend technical audits as requested by Management.
- Actively support other disciplines to ensure inter-discipline coherence and experience transfer.
- Participate in project risk management process.
- Participate in HAZID and HAZOP meetings.Authorities:
- Expenditure authority as defined within the limits of the COPNO ALM Authorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Chartered Engineer / Engineer (MSc) within material technology.Less formal education may be compensated with documented relevant experience.
- Min. 10 years of materials and metallurgy engineering experience including subsea production systems and SURF Projects.
