Description

QUALIFICATION:

High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of professional level experience related to the area of assignment; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower-level Project Mgr (Non-IT) 1 (GSP110).

QUALIFICATION:

Three years experience managing multiple capital improvement design and construction projects from inception to completion, including new construction and total or partial renovation of entire buildings systems and infrastructures.

  • Three years experience managing multiple major building life safety fire alarm and sprinkler systems/repair, OR mechanical (HVAC), OR electrical, OR plumbing infrastructure repair or replacement construction projects.
  • Well developed oral, written, analytical, organizational and prioritization skills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess agency infrastructures and prioritize capital project needs for approximately thirty major correctional facilities and twenty-five other agency facilities located across Georgia.
  • Develop capital project construction program needs and establish and manage budgets for design and construction of Life Safety, Fire Alarm Systems, and Sprinkler Systems.
  • Procure and administer engineering services contracts for agency design and construction projects.
  • Manage various types of construction contracts for multiple capital improvement projects simultaneously to include Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Alarm Systems, and Sprinkler Systems.
  • Coordinate multiple contractors for the Life Safety/Fire Alarm and Sprinkler System Repairs statewide.
  • Coordinate involvement and contribution of multiple agency divisions and departments during the design and construction process.
  • Ability to climb ladders and carry up to 25 pounds.
