The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Project Officer. The Project Officer’s role is primarily to execute project in a multidisciplinary team, aiming to utilise nutrients derived from waste streams for microalgae cultivation and produce sustainable source of proteins.
The Project Officer will take on a significant role in:

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and develop microalgae strains suitable for protein production
• Improve microalgae productivity and optimize culture conditions
• Design, setup and modify lab-scale photobioreactor for microalgae cultivation
• Characterization of nutritional values microalgae biomass obtained

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biological Science or closely related field
• Background in microalgae/single-cell biomass culture
• Experience with characterization of microalgae growth, biochemical properties and protein profiles
• Good understanding of the scientific and engineering principles
