Organizational Context and Scope Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) for IOM’s Coordination Office for the North Pacific, based in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), and under the direct supervision of the Head of Sub-Office in the Republic of Marshall Islands (RMI), the Project Officer (Community Resilience) will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of community resilience initiatives across RMI. The incumbent will also provide technical coordination for community development and resilience activities, including disaster risk readiness (DRR) strategies, emergency response contingency planning, post-disaster assessments, and ensuring the well-being of communities affected by natural hazards.
Responsibilities
The Project Officer will support and coordinate the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of community resilience initiatives across the Republic of Marshall Islands (RMI). This includes providing technical coordination for activities such as disaster risk readiness, emergency response planning, and post-disaster assessments to ensure community well-being.
