POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Officer at International Business University (IBU) will be responsible for supporting various academic program activities. The incumbent will play a key role in the technical development of online short courses using Canvas and coordinating related online enrolment activities. Additionally, the Project Officer will support and coordinate with faculty members in supervising the Capstone Project and in course preparatory and delivery activities. He/she will also assist with the development of new programs and other initiatives as assigned by the Dean. The position requires close collaboration with other staff in Dean’s Office and a high level of commitment to academic excellence and stakeholder engagement.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional practical knowledge and experience in using Canvas, as well as instructional design for online learning for undergraduate and graduate-level programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication to obtain and relay information accurately with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills to cope with conflicting deadlines, multiple tasks, projects and events occurring within short and overlapping time periods.
  • Good judgement and to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates initiative and flexibility.
  • Able to communicate effectively with a diverse university student population. Displays a genuine desire to understand and meet the needs of students.
  • Working effectively and accurately under pressure of high volume and frequent interruptions.
  • Intermediate word processing (MS Word), PowerPoint, spreadsheet skills (MS Excel), electronic calendar/scheduling software and email (Outlook 365), database skills, Adobe, electronic software.
  • Demonstrated record of professionalism, good attendance, punctuality, and reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting various academic coordinating activities for the IBU programs, particularly on the overall development of the online plus modules for the MBA and BCom programs.
  • Coordinating with the faculty members to ensure their course outlines are prepared on schedule according to the standards set by IBU with reference to the learning outcomes approved.
  • Coordinating the onboarding activities with the new and existing faculty members to ensure that the course materials, including adoption textbooks and cases, are procured and made available on Canvas in a timely manner.
  • Checking and verifying the assessment results are provided in the grade books of Canvas.
  • New program development and other program-related support activities as assigned.
  • Other duties as required.
