Job Description We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Officer – Laboratory Mobilisation & Delivery to support the successful setup, commissioning, and delivery of laboratory projects across our operations. This role is ideal for someone with a background in laboratory environments and project coordination, who thrives in fast-paced, site-based project settings and enjoys seeing projects through from mobilisation to operational readiness. Responsibilities include however, not limited to: Support Project Managers with end-to-end project delivery activities including scheduling, milestones, procurement coordination, mobilisation planning, and documentation Maintain structured project documentation, registers, risk logs, and reporting frameworks Monitor project KPIs and contribute to reporting across schedule, cost, quality, and readiness objectives Attend site during peak project activity to coordinate suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders Act as the on-site focal point for day-to-day project execution, issue resolution, and progress tracking Coordinate laboratory installation, commissioning, and readiness activities Ensure effective communication between site teams, project management, suppliers, and leadership Coordinate commissioning activities including equipment installation, validation, and readiness checks Verify laboratories are commissioned in line with company procedures, safety standards, and quality systems Assist with handover documentation and readiness reviews Liaise with internal and external construction, supply, installation, and client stakeholder Qualifications The successful applicant will have a: Diploma or Degree in Laboratory Science, Geochemistry, Metallurgy, Environmental Science, or a related discipline Experience in mining laboratory operations (preferred) Proven experience supporting projects, mobilisations, or laboratory start-ups Project management training or practical experience (advantageous) Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and accredited laboratory environments (beneficial) Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills Willingness and ability to travel to site as required Additional Information WHY WORK FOR SGS?
