About the role We are recruiting for a Project Officer in the Strategic Land Use Planning team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the on-going management of Council’s land use planning policy framework. This includes preparing strategies, policies and precinct plans; preparing, assessing and processing planning proposals (Local Environmental Plan amendments); and preparing Development Control Plans. About You You are Tertiary qualified in town planning or equivalent. Applicants may have experience in the following; however, this is not essential; culture, economic development, social or environment. You will also bring: Proven experience in statutory or strategic planning or allied professional experience and an understanding of the NSW planning system. A track record of achieving strategic objectives with demonstrated success in working with or for the public sector. Experience in generating and communicating statutory plans and strategies and preparing related reporting. Project management skills and experience. Experience in analytical, creative thinking and problem solving across a range of strategic projects and multi-disciplinary teams. Proven ability to work with initiative and versatility on a wide range of matters, including solving a range of complex planning related problems through innovation and collaboration. Established written and verbal communication skills that can adapt to a diverse range of audiences. Essential qualifications Tertiary qualifications in town planning or equivalent. What’s on offer We are offering an attractive remuneration from $104,610 - $115,174 plus 12% superannuation. This role is permanent full time and within the City Planning and Design Directorate.
