JOB SUMMARY   As a member of the Project Team, the Project Officer is responsible for regional level project deliverables and providing support in implementing the project in selected locations. S/he will assist the Project Manager in managing the project to ensure timely implementation the project activities with maintaining the project quality.  The major responsibilities of the Project Officer include (but not limited to) leading and implementation of project activities at regional level, and support in planning, coordination, progress tracking, reviewing and monitoring programmatic aspects of project performance as envisioned in the project document. S/he will collect case stories and event information from the partners and prepare the version for reporting. The Project Officer will actively provide support in organizing visit programs, workshops, seminars, training, partners meeting and in observing different days, frequent visits to partner’s field to collect the required data and information. S/he will assist the project team and support the SMT in partnership assessment, planning/scheduling any event, contract drafting and signing, data collection for study/research work.   LOCATION Anywhere in Bangladesh (Co-located at partner hospital/office) with frequent field visit.   REPORTING & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS The Project Officer reports to the Project Manager and closely work with Specialist (MIS), Partner focal points (Eye hospital, PKSF-POs), Orbis team including Senior Management Team (SMT) to ensure that appropriate program technology, monitoring, data management system are in place and functional,  Additionally, s/he will support project team and SMT for documentation for evidence and research.    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY * Lead and ensure regional (10-12 districts) level project deliverables and  implementation through close collaboration and coordination with the partner eye hospitals, and PKSF POs * Assist PM in planning and managing project activities mentioned in the project documents.  * Build and maintain professional relationships with team and partner’s relevant staff and uphold Orbis values and code of conduct while implementing the project activities timely in a facilitative/supportive mode.  * With assistance of supervisor, prepare/review Detail Implementation Plan (DIP) and follow up progress on a monthly, quarterly and annually and track achievement of outputs and spending against project plan. * Assist partners for timely data entry, validation, performance analysis and partner’s feedback for donor reporting. Assist in preparing relevant narrative reports, conduct RDQA, and submit to Project Manager for review, finalization and uploading data/document to Spectrum /Orbis system for endorsement and approval. * Provide updated information to Senior Project Manager regularly on partners expectations/issues/challenges in order to address/resolved by the project team.   * Frequent field visit, monitor project activities and closely work with partners to collect/documents event reports and case stories as well as make visits for verification and finalizing the drafts for reporting and promoting Orbis work.   * Support country team in designing, conducting research, generating evidence, documentation and sharing; Assist team for data collection and interview for research/study work assigned by the organization * Organize and facilitate regional level trainings, workshops, coordination meetings including different events and visitor’s program, document events, internal and external communication and Orbis and Donor branding promotion.   * Assist partner Eye Hospital to negotiate with PKSF partners and organizing subjective evaluation/outreach program in the vision center/PKSF PO’s health centers, data of cataract surgery and post-surgery follow-ups. * Facilitate and monitor capacity building initiatives of PKSF’s partner staff on primary eye care using vision point pack and Eye Hospital and Vision Center staff to enroll and completed training courses (in person) and by using Cybersight platform.  * Support in developing IEC/BCC materials for day observation, project awareness and any other purposes. * Prepare regional level periodical progress reports and submission and support in hospital partners to ensure timely submission of periodical program and financial reports in time. * Assist Senior Project Manager and the project team as and when required and perform any other duties as assigned by the SMT of Orbis Bangladesh Country Office.  QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE * Master’s degree in social science or public health or equivalent from a recognized university. * Three years’ progressive work experience including 1 years’ experience in the similar position in any I/NGOs * Experience in health program/project will be preferred * Knowledge and skills in project cycle management, training, monitoring, documentation, report writing, communications and organizing events.  * Willingness to spend 70% time in the project area and to work with implementing partner and other stakeholders. * Ability to develop detailed implementation plans, result monitoring, produce reports and understand development programs.   SKILLS & ABILITIES * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (excellent written& spoken English) * Ability to analyze and work independently for the project deliverables. * Well conversant with computer programs and software packages * Demonstrable knowledge program management, some basics of research and advocacy knowledge and skills including capacity for networking are required. * Able to utilize professional ethics to manage self, others, information, resources, and activities; * Demonstrable experience in data collection, event report, research and case study report writing.  * Ability to develop effective and constructive working relationship with colleagues, partners, and institutions. * Willingness to drive proactively, learn and share lessons and other information; * Willingness to travel outside station and ready to work under extreme pressure. * Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). * Excellent understanding of data protection regulations and best practices. * Strong communication and presentation skills. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.     To learn more about Orbis, go to http://www.orbis.org [http://www.orbis.org]   Orbis is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
