About the role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Officer (Talent Acquisition) to join our team and lead a range of recruitment improvement initiatives. This role will work closely with the Manager Talent Acquisition to review, improve and deliver recruitment-related projects that enhance consistency, governance and the overall experience for hiring managers and stakeholders. This is not an operational recruitment role. You will use your understanding of internal recruitment practices to identify opportunities for improvement, analyse current processes, develop recommendations, and create practical resources including procedures, workflows, guides and supporting documentation. The successful candidate will be someone who can take ownership of projects from commencement through to implementation, confidently navigate ambiguity, and translate complex recruitment requirements into clear and practical solutions. Key Responsibilities You will lead recruitment improvement projects to review, improve and implement processes, procedures and supporting resources. You will: Review recruitment practices and identify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency and compliance. Consult with stakeholders to understand business needs and inform evidence-based recommendations. Develop recruitment documentation including procedures, workflows, checklists and guides. Ensure recruitment resources align with relevant legislation, policy, governance requirements and organisational practices. About You You are a proactive and organised professional with strong internal recruitment experience and a passion for improving processes. You can work independently, manage competing priorities and take ownership of delivering outcomes. You will have: Experience in internal recruitment, HR or a related people-focused environment. Demonstrated experience reviewing, improving or documenting recruitment, HR or business processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical recommendations. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to develop clear business documentation. Experience leading or managing projects and delivering outcomes with minimal supervision. An understanding of the importance of compliance, governance and consistent recruitment practices. Experience working within the NSW Government or broader public sector environment, including knowledge of public sector recruitment frameworks and governance requirements, will be highly regarded.
