Description
The Project Order Engineering Specialist is responsible for proactively managing and coordinating the technical aspects of basic to high value complex project orders containing standard, assembled-to-order and engineered-to-order equipment. The incumbent will serve as a customer advocate and demonstrate a leadership role in complex issues related to the project, while communicating with project managers, plants, field sales, and assigned customer base regarding the status of orders including maintaining drawing schedules, specification, and documentation requirements, and addressing technical concerns to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of project commitments. For orders managed without a project manager, the incumbent will serve as a customer advocate and demonstrate a leadership role in complex issues related to the project, while communicating with plants, field sales, and assigned customer base regarding the technical status of orders including maintaining drawing and production schedules, specification requirements, and addressing technical concerns to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of project commitments. Maintain the technical integrity of assembled-to-order projects via the following actions: Work with technical document control specialist to fulfill all project documentation requirements in a timely manner Work with Post-Sales specialist to manage post-shipment resolution related to warranties and damages Manage effective communication with project managers, plants, field sales, and other internal departments to ensure accurate, on-time delivery of project commitments Manage effective external technical communication with contractors, industrials, distributors, consulting engineers and OEM's to ensure successful execution of a project University degree or college diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technologist, Electrical Engineering Technologist or related discipline from an accredited institution Minimum 5 years' experience working with complex and large projects in the electrical industry and assemblies, either in project management, sales/quotations, or engineering Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future Professional Engineering Licence (P. Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Bilingual in English / French Strong technical background in industrial and construction products Strong application knowledge of Power Engineered Products
