The main responsabilities of the project planner is:
- Apply the company’s time management processes
- Promote the time management practices and culture in the project team
- Capture and analyse the return of experience (REX) from its project
- Develop quality schedules in accordance with the company’s procedures, contractual requirements, and stakeholder inputs.
- Optimize schedules considering multiple criteria such as on-time delivery, cash generation, penalty avoidance, and efficient utilization of available resources.
- Ensure validation of the baseline schedule.
- Develop a Project Time Management Plan.
- Organize and lead regular project schedule review sessions, challenging stakeholders’ assumptions about time performance.
- Align the commitments of internal and external stakeholders, manage schedule interfaces, and proactively address inconsistencies.
- Ensure on-time updates of both internal and external schedules, monitoring stakeholders’ adherence to schedule quality standards.
- Identify critical paths and both actual and potential delays in complex, interlinked schedules.
- Guide the project team in identifying and mitigating risks and in seizing opportunities related to on-time delivery.
- Lead the preparation of schedule and progress reports, illustrating progress with relevant KPIs and the Earned Value Methodology.
- Support the Contract Manager in protecting the company’s rights in time-related disputes and perform delay delay analysis.
Educational Requirements: Engineering or Business degree.
Experience: 2 to 5 years of Project scheduling experience.
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:
- Working knowledge and skills in project scheduling theory and methods.
- Proficiency in at least one scheduling software tool.
- Working skills in MS office tools.
- Basic knowledge of time-related contractual obligations and penalties.
- Basic knowledge of railway industry products and technologies.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; an effective team player.
- Ability to challenge teams and proactively propose solutions.
- Structured and critical thinking skills.
- Adaptability in a multi-cultural and rapidly changing environment
