We’re growing our Portfolio Management Office and looking for experienced Project Planners to support our Industry and Marine programs. From initial bid through to contract closeout, you’ll play a key role in planning and executing complex customer programs that deliver real-world outcomes in energy, defence, and beyond. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Project Planning & Scheduling Lead the development and management of integrated project schedules — from bid through to handover. Coordinate across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, site works, and commissioning. Maintain baseline schedules, perform updates, and support change control processes. Ensure all stakeholders and suppliers are aligned with key milestones and delivery timelines. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Represent the planning function in customer and internal meetings. Deliver clear and confident schedule presentations. Support commercial teams with schedule-related contract terms and reporting requirements. Lead schedule impact assessments for variation orders and internal changes. Schedule Risk Management Identify schedule risks and opportunities early. Drive proactive mitigation and support recovery planning. Develop “what-if” scenarios and critical path analyses to optimise execution. Earned Value & Reporting Produce schedule-driven insights like Earned Value Analysis (EVA). Track progress and report performance to internal teams and customers with clarity and confidence. What You’ll Bring A strong background in project planning for complex engineering programs, ideally in defence, marine, or industrial sectors. Experience managing multiple projects in a high-paced, matrixed environment. Familiarity with PMI or equivalent project management methodologies. Solid understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, data analysis). Excellent communication skills, written and verbal with a professional, stakeholder-focused approach. You should have the right to work in the UK, and the potential to achieve higher levels of security clearance (SC). Why GE Vernova?
