Join our Renewable Energy department and be part of a team contributing to innovative energy solutions, industrial development, power grids, and hydropower. With the growing demand for new energy carriers, carbon capture, waste incineration, and thermal processes, we are looking for skilled project planners to enhance our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking projects to meet client needs. You’ll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, work closely with clients, and oversee projects from concept development to engineering and delivery follow-up. Your workplace will be in Fredrikstad, Oslo, or Stavanger.

Your daily tasks may include:

  • Developing project schedules and resource plans for multidisciplinary projects.
  • Coordinating activities and specialists with the project manager, tracking deviations and adjusting plans.
  • Monitoring project progress, earned value, costs, and completion estimates.
  • Tracking budget alignment, identifying and assessing potential budget changes.
  • Establishing reporting structures and share key project metrics with stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders while supporting knowledge sharing and process improvements within the team.
  • Contributing to projects beyond Renewable Energy in COWI’s diverse engineering disciplines.

We are looking for someone who will contribute to developing our professional competence and share their experience. We seek planners who proactively engage in their projects and take ownership in them in cooperation with clients, project leaders, and engineering resources. To succeed in this role, it is important that you are structured, curious, and engaged. You are good at planning your work, setting goals, and meeting deadlines.

Additionally, you should have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project planning, preferably within the energy sector, though less experienced candidates will also be considered
  • A master’s degree or equivalent. Relevant work experience can compensate for formal education.
  • A team player mentality, good skills in cooperation and the ability to connect with people and be outgoing.
  • The ability to quickly acquire in-depth understanding of a project and its scope, and handling a wide array of engineering disciplines within the planning process.
  • The ability to take ownership and act proactively.
  • Good skills in honest and transparent communication.
  • Good knowledge and skills in general IT, including Office applications.
  • Good skills in industrial planning tools like Primavera or equivalent.
  • Strong written and oral skills in both Norwegian and English

COWI has clients and projects that may require security clearance at various levels. Therefore, there may be a requirement for security clearance in some projects/positions.
